The prolific Sheffield artist and producer (of Funky Worm, Sweet Exorcist, All Seeing I, and many more) makes a welcome return to DFA for his latest EP, Echo Loves Narcissus, a series of four fierce house stompers that take their upbeat sound far away from the tragic roots of their titles. Though he keeps a notoriously low profile and is rarely seen in a club setting, you might be surprised to learn that Richard Barratt is neither of these things. The Greek myth of Echo and Narcissus involves a well-meaning, talkative nymph and a dim-witted, vain man.
